Say what?!

How in the world has 6 months passed since I last updated my blog?? Wowza :/ It has been a great 6 months spent doing lots that I love including vacationing with my family, enjoying the holidays in Utah, working my other job, preparing for the end of another school year, and of course refinishing furniture! You didn't think I had quit, had you? Hehehe...

I have kept plenty busy doing lots of work for clients and I'll start my update off with this darling piece...
It belonged to my clients husband when he was a young boy and they decided to keep it around for the next generation to enjoy...which always makes me sooooo happy! It came to me white and was in need of some TLC because it was peeling and had been decorated with stickers to boot! She requested a gorgeous navy blue finish which I applied after stripping the entire piece, filling the existing handle holes so they could be replaced with knobs, sanding it down, and priming it. After I painted it I applied a wax paste to seal it up and love how it turned out!

Then there was this darling piece I finished for some clients that were getting ready to welcome a new baby to their family! Another family heirloom which makes me so happy! This piece needed to be stripped of the existing polyurethane after which I filled some dings with wood filler, sanded it, primed it, painted it in a beautiful shade of white and waxed it on up. What a darling addition to their nursery this will be!

I also finished 2 cute nightstands for separate clients. Nothing completely drastic needed to be done to them but aren't they cute...

Then I had the privelege of finishing a bunch of pieces for a dear friend of mine! I'll start with her bedroom set...
She brought me a darling side table and 2 gorgeous dressers that she wanted finished in 'Woodrow Wilson Presidential White', which is a really stunning cream color, and the tops to be stained in Jacobean. I stripped the top of all three pieces, stained them and added polyurethane and painted the bodies after sanding them really well. I think they turned out so pretty!!

I'm kicking myself that I didn't get better 'after' shots of those dressers and the same feeling carries on to my next piece...
She was looking for an entertainment console for their boys playroom and found this awesome MCM piece! I love everything about the detail on the beauty!! She chose to go with 'Roman Ornament' for this fun one and it is going to look awesome in her room when she has it all put together...

And finally I refinished one of the biggest tables I've ever seen for her! Complete with 7 chairs & 7 leaves...which she only had me finish 3. She was going for more of a rustic shabby look for this one and I ended up painting the base and 7 chairs "Aspen Gray' which goes so well with the surface treatment! So gorgeous....
It was stripped several times because the original coat was so thick, sanded and distressed for the shabby look, paint and stain were also added to give it the aged finish after which it was topped with polyurethane for protection. The base and chairs were sanded, primed, painted and waxed. Feast your eyes upon this...

Once I finished with her pieces I kept busy doing a few fix-it jobs for a neighbor including fixing a broken kitchen drawer and replacing an arm to his dining room table that had broken off...

Leave it to me to forget to take after shots! Well that pretty much sums up my last few months minus an AMAZING armoire that I am getting ready to post. I hope you have been busy enjoying the things that bring you happiness in life ~Kell
