Gorgeous French Provincial Dresser...SOLD

When I started this piece I really went back and forth with what color I should finish it in. I have done several white and gray pieces as of late and was ready to shake it up with this beautiful Robins Egg blue shade. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! This dresser is absolutely breathtaking and really needs to be seen in person to appreciate its soft color...my pictures make it appear darker than it really is. I am excited about the purposes this piece could serve as...I can visualize it as a buffet in your kitchen or dining room, an entry way catch all, extra storage for your office, a changing table in your nursery, towel and linen storage for a bathroom, a TV console for your family room, or...a dresser :) I know I've said it before...I love to think outside the box when it comes to furniture and its uses...but it really could go anywhere!

This piece is solid wood and stands 64 in. long x 19 in. deep x 33 in. tall. It features 3 dove tailed drawers measuring 25.5 in. long x 14.5 in deep and sink 5.5 in. Behind the beautiful doors are cubbies with 1 adjustable shelf each. The cubby itself measures 15 in. wide x 16.75 in. deep x 20.5 in. tall.

It has been finished the way all my pieces are and you can read more about that on the sidebar if you are a newcomer to my blog. Thanks for dropping in and enjoy the rest of your week ~Kell

Gorgeous Mid Century Modern Bedroom Set...SOLD

This sweet set has been hanging around in my garage far too long so I was super excited to finally have some time to devote to it! I love Mid Century pieces and as fate would have it they are very trendy right now. When I was thinking about which color to use I really couldn't decide between white and gray...both would have looked stunning. So I finally settled on a gray that is so light it appears to be white, called "Comet Dust" but Valspar. I love this particular color and have used it many times before but it really suited this set and I LOVE how it turned out. I also wanted to play up the trendy look by adding an arrow pull to the upper left hand side of each piece...what a difference that makes! ♥

Included are a:
HEADBOARD - 61 in. long x 39.5 in. tall x 2.25 in. deep {Full/Queen}
TALLBOY - 36 in. long x 44.5 in. tall x 17.25 in. deep
LONG DRESSER - 67.5 in. long x 31 in. tall x 17.5 in. deep
with a MIRROR - 50 in. long x 36 in. tall x 1.75 in. deep

Beautiful Sumter Armiore / Dresser...SOLD

Wow, it's been a crazy few months...I know you all understand! I have been keeping busy with custom jobs as of late and recently finished them up so I have had some time to get to a few pieces that have been lying around begging for a face lift. I was super excited to get to this beautiful armoire and decided to paint it cream and distress it for a gorgeous shabby chic feel. I ♥ how it turned out.

It is a solid wood piece with all of its original hardware and measures 64.5 in. tall x 19 in. deep x 42.5 in. long. Behind its beautifully detailed doors is a cubby that measures 37 in. long x 17.5 in. tall x 16 in. deep with 2 dove tailed drawers that sit 30.5 in. long x 14.25 in. deep and sink 4.5 in. and 8.5 in. The bottom 2 drawers sit 32.5 in. long x 15.25 in. deep and sink 6.5 in. each. There is also a divider in the cubby that can sit to the right or left for your organizing needs.

This gorgeous armoire is built by Sumter Cabinet Company and is sure to last a lifetime! It would work beautifully as a dresser, TV cabinet, or storage for a bathroom, closet, entryway or even office. Thanks for dropping in ~Kell

Busy, busy, busy...

I know my absence has been a long one...I bet you think I have been hibernating this winter, huh?! I promise I have been keeping busy. Too busy to keep my head on straight which I am sure you all understand. Life has a way of doing that to us! Between soccer, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, piano, choir, and student council my kids alone keep us running in every direction possible but throw in a sprinkling of PTO, working at my kiddos school, church callings and doing furniture on top of that...it’s no wonder my hair is turning grey!

I truly would not have it any other way and am starting to fear the day that my kids grow up and move away...who will I live vicariously through then?!?!?! All joking {and crying} aside I really have been working on furniture, I just haven't gotten around to taking pictures, editing them, posting them, writing about them...etc...etc...so today is the day. Here's a recap of my last month and a half:

It started off with a gorgeous dresser that my client wanted turned into an entertainment piece. She wanted the two center drawers removed and shelves put in their place and also wanted the door fronts removed and replaced with glass. I love a good rebuild! It took a bit of time and paint to match the existing finish but turned out beautifully and fits their TV well!

After that I rebuilt 4 kitchen cabinet drawers for a friend that her kiddos had gotten their hands on...uh-oh! I even fixed an antique shelf that belonged to her grandmother and had fallen from her wall and broke {I think her heart was more broken then the shelf}. After which I fixed a cabinet drawer for another friend and added some pulls too. I don't have many pictures of this project but it kept me busy none the less. {If you look in the background of the picture with the black dresser you can see the scrolled wood from the shelf that needed repairing}

When I finished those I took on 2 dressers, a mirror, and side table for the same client that owned the entertainment dresser. The bedroom set was made by Dixie and the pieces were beautiful but she wanted them updated by changing them from their original brown stain to white with a slight distressing, new knobs to match the shape of her side table and even new drawer liner. I also cut out the decorative top of her mirror that had a slight Aztec look and didn't match her decor. The side table was painted in a matte black and will feature a glass top in her space. They turned out so nice!

Then I had a client bring me a piano! I LOVE PAINTING PIANOS! They offer a challenge that can't be beat and wow do they look nice when they are complete! In the before pictures you'll see the cherry stain that once adorned it as well as the white fabric on the bench. She wanted it finished in a taupe color {we picked Oat Bran} to match her Pottery Barn style and I distressed it for a shabby look after which I reupholstered the bench in a fabric she picked to match her color scheme. Can I just say it turned out AMAZING!

Somewhere in this mix I had another client bring me a headboard and desk that she wanted slightly white for a room she was doing for a client. She is an interior designer and does amazing work! We picked Du Jour and had them add fewer drops of brown for a custom color. The after pictures featured are from the room she designed which she stated still needs the finishing touches. Doesn't it look GREAT!

And I would be lying if I didn't mention that I threw a few pieces of my own in the mix! Our old house had a room that fit our office desk really well. It was a large, dark wood, L shaped desk with hutches on top that was to heavy in the smaller office we have now. So I decided to sell it and bought a glass table that will serve as our desk now. But seeing as how it doesn't have any drawers I wanted to finish a dresser to serve as a credenza behind it. I will post pictures but keep in mind the room has not been decorated so more pics will follow once the finishing touches have been added! I also refinished 2 old dresser mirrors that I wanted above our nightstands in the master bedroom. The room is very light and has pops of peacock blue and green so you can see why I picked the color I did. They really stand out and I love them! And finally, I bought a candy dispenser but despised the color and had to bring it to life with a vibrant aqua shade. My kids are enthralled which means: mission accomplished!

Whew...I feel winded now...hehehe! It has been a great few weeks and I am thankful that I get to do something that I LOVE!! ♥

Thanks for taking the time to read up on what's new at Home on Harmony! I hope you have a great day and a Happy Valentine's Day ~Kell
