Mid-Century Modern Bedroom Set...SOLD

This set is amazing! I have done a lot of pieces in my time and they have all been great pieces, but I have never done a set that is as old as this one and in such great shape. It is flawless! When I saw the lines of this Solid Elm Wood LA Period Furniture set I knew I wanted to paint it gray and also thought it would be fun to paint the bottom 3 inches of the legs gold to match the original hardware. I think it looks AMAZING!!! Timeless and classic...

This set includes:

A Tallboy that is a size I have never seen before. I love that it is almost as wide as it is tall...so unique which is another one of its many great qualities. With 12 drawers you will not lack in the storage department! All of which are tapered sliding dovetailed which goes to show you the quality of the set. It stands 52in. wide x 18in. deep x 45in. tall. with 12 drawers; 6 that measure 14.25in. wide x 13.75in. deep and sink 4in. and 6 that measure 22.25in. wide x 14.75in. deep and sink 4.5in.

A long dresser that is 59.5in. wide x 17.5in. deep x 31in. tall with 9 drawers; 3 that measure 14.5in. wide x 14.75in. deep and sink 4.75 in. and 6 that are 17.5in. wide x 14.75in. deep and sink 4.75in. {one drawer houses a removable divider and another a removable jewelry tray}

Two nightstands each 22in. wide x 16.75in. deep x 22.25in. tall each with a drawer that is 18in. wide x 14in. deep and sinks 3.25in.

and A mirror that sits 47in. wide x 35.5in. tall x 1.5in. deep {Not Pictured}

As with all of my pieces, It has been sanded, de-glossed, primed, painted a beautiful shade of gray called Mark Twain House Ombra {by Vlaspar}, sanded again for that smooth finish I love so much, and waxed for durability.

It will be the perfect fit to any room. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend ~Kell

Antique Vaughn-Bassett Dresser Set...SOLD

Oh my word, could these be any cuter?!? When I first laid eyes on this set all I could think about was how cute they would be in a baby’s nursery! Of course, they would be cute anywhere...but my mind was dreaming up colors and it just kept saying pink. I even found the most adorable drawer liner with colorful polka dots to finish it off...I am thrilled with how they turned out!

These babies are OLD...early 1900's to be exact. They were made by the Vaughn-Bassett furniture company {commonly known today as Bassett Furniture} so when I say they were built to last you know I mean business. They are solid wood with dove tail jointing and come complete with brand new wood drawer bottoms because the others had seen better days as well as new knobs because the original wood ones were not working properly and had to be thrown out. They have been sanded, primed because old stain loves to bleed through, painted with several coats for durability, distressed to give the appearance of their real age, sanded again for a smooth finish and coated with wax for protection.

The tallboy stands 50in. tall x 30in. wide x 17.5in. deep and features 5 drawers that measure 24in. wide x 12.25in. deep with 1 that sinks 3in., 2 that sink 5in., and 2 that sink 6in.

The dresser is 35in. tall x 40in. wide x 19.25in. deep. Its top 2 drawers measure 16in. wide x 14.25in. deep and sink 4in. while the bottom 2 sit 33.75in. wide x 14.25in. deep and sink 7in. The mirror that adorns it {and is removable} is 37in. at its widest point, stands 32.5in. tall and is 1.5in. deep.

I am willing to seperate the set. Each dresser will cost $275 or $499 for them both!

Thanks for dropping in ~Kell

Beautiful Robin's Egg Blue Crib & Mattress...SOLD

This piece was just fun! I have never done a crib before and was super excited at the chance to. Who wouldn't be thrilled at painting something that will adorn the nursery of a sweet new baby!! I decided to paint this piece blue. If you are like me, when you think of blue you think of a boy. Well, that is far from the case with this color. Of course, it can be used for a boy and would look awesome in a room decorated with airplanes, cars, and what have you, but this color also goes so well with pink and coral that it would look absolutely stunning in a nursery for a little girl as well.

It is in great condition so I sanded it, primed it, painted it with 2 coats for durability, sanded it again so it would be smooth for your little one, waxed it to protect the paint, and added a coat of Polycrylic to the front rail incase your toddler decides to take its teething out on it :) The price also inclueds a mattress that is in great shape. The sticker fell off and it has been in my garage, hence the dark spot. But it is a good mattress!

I hope your week has started off well! Thanks for dropping by ~Kell

5 Piece Basic-Witz Bedroom Set...SOLD

What an amazing set of bedroom furniture I have from the Basic Witz Company that specialized in bedroom and dining room furniture nearly 50 years ago. {Have I mentioned that I love old furniture?!} It is so solid and sturdy featuring dove tail joints and all the quality one would hope for in purchasing a piece of furniture, not to mention 5 pieces!!

I am slightly obsessed with white furniture...first of all because of how clean it looks but also because it is timeless. Even as styles change you can switch things such as paint color, bedding, etc...and the white furniture will always fit in.

I have sanded all of the pieces, primed them for a good base, painted them in several coats with Valspar's Bedroom White, distressed them for a charming shabby chic look, sanded them again for a super smooth finish, added wax to all the pieces and applied a coat of Polycrylic to the top of the dresser and nightstands for durability. They turned out amazing!!

The set includes a long six drawer dresser that measures 73.5 in. long x 32 in. tall x 18.75 in. deep with 6 of the drawers sitting 17.25 in. long x 13.25 in. deep and sink 6 in. and 3 that sit 20.5 in. wide x 12.5 in. deep and sink 5.5 in., a mirror measuring 55 in. tall x 29 in. wide x 2 in. deep and can be attached to a wall or has 2 metal rails that can attach it to the dresser, 2 nightstands that are 26.5 in. wide x 24 in. tall x 16.5 in. deep featuring 2 drawers each that are 17 in. wide x 12.5 in. deep and sink 6 in., and a full/queen headboard that stands 61 in. wide x 59 in. tall x 3 in. deep. So happy to see the finished product!!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek...I hope you are having a wonderful day ~Kell

Amazing 9 Drawer Dresser...SOLD

I know, I know...I say it all too often, but I LOVE OLD FURNITURE!! And I sound like a broken record when I say that they just don't make furniture the way they used to. Well, it's because they don't! Unless your willing to pay an arm and a leg for it, which I folks, am not. That is why I love what I do ♥ I mean, really LOVE what I do. I love finding the perfect piece that needs a revival. I love dreaming about what color I should finish it in allowing me to dream about who will buy it and what room it will fit perfectly into in their home. I love stripping off old finishes, sanding, filling, fixing, painting, waxing, etc...I love to ditress pieces even though I do not do it to them all. I love posting my furniture and waiting for the one right buyer. It is all a process...and I love it! Which I must say is a testimony in patience for me because it does not all happen overnight. Sure, I could not sand my pieces and I could use spray paint making my experience with each a lot quicker. But if you know anything about me, you know that I pay attention to detail. I don't want to do things the fast way. I want to do them my way {insert giggle}

My latest dresser has me all too excited. I am the biggest fan of gray and the hue that this one puts off is dreamy! I am also a fan of the minor distressing on its edges adding to its finish. Since you've made it this far, you already know the process of how I got to this end result so I'll skip the nitty gritty and get right to the measurements. This beautiful solid wood {HEAVY} dresser stands 31.5 in. tall x 72 in. long x 20 in. deep. The three middle drawers are 34 in. w x 15.5 in. deep. Two of them sink 6.25 in. while the other sinks 7in. The fun detailed doors hide 3 more drawers each that are 14.25 in. w x 13.5 d. Again, 4 sink 6.25in. While the last 2 sink 7 in. This piece is amazing! It is solid wood with dovetail joints on all the drawers and is built to last a lifetime!

I had to remove all the hardware to paint it and realized in the process that one of the knobs was different so I replaced the top drawer’s knobs with glass ones that make it so elegant. I really do love how it turned out and hope that you do too!

Happy Friday, all ~Kell

Beautiful Lexington Armoire...SOLD

What a stunning armoire that could not have more finishing detail on it if it tried. I absolutely love the crown molding it possesses as well as the spiral and ball molding on the top and doors. When deciding what color to paint it, I took those details into account. I knew it needed a delicate color and that is how I landed on the beautiful Robin’s Egg Blue shade that adorns it. This color is very popular and pairs with others quite well. I have to say that the pictures do not do the color justice...I think I am learning not to take pictures of furniture in front of windows for that reason alone!

This piece, like all my others, has been sanded, primed in all the right places, painted with 4 coats for added durability, sanded again, waxed for protection and had all its original hardware added back on. As you can tell from the first picture it originally had a backer board that had a large hole in it for a TV. I took that cheap piece out and replaced it with a piece of bead board adding to its beautiful finishing details.

This solid wood piece measures 66.75 in. tall x 22 in. deep x 42 in. long. Behind its beautiful doors you will find a cubby with has 2 removable shelves for your customized organizational needs as well as 2 drawers. The cubby itself measures 33 in. tall x 17.5 in. deep x 33.5 in. long. The drawers measure 12.5 in. long x 13 in. deep and sink 4.25 in. The bottom 2 drawers feature dove tail joints and sit 32 in. long x 14.5 in. deep and sink 5.25 in. each.

I can envision this piece in many place; a nursery for all your baby trinkets and clothes, an office to hide away your crafting supplies and what have you, a closet for your personal belongings, decor in a front room, a kitchen or dining room to house dishes and gadgets, a bathroom for towels and such. It is so functional that you could use it just about anywhere!
