Husband 1...Wife 0

Well peeps, it appears that I can be bought! Hehehe!!

You know that gorgeous turquoise dresser that I wrote about not too long ago...you know, the one I said I would never part ways with? Well, I parted ways with it. Bitter sweet, I must say. I LOVED that dresser! That's the bitter part. But I know that the home it found will love it just as much {if not more} than me...and that, my friends, is the sweet part.

Now, I get to go on the search for the perfect piece to replace it. {Hope my hubby isn't reading this :)}

Have a good one ~Kell

Beautiful Armoire...SOLD

This armoire you truly have to see to believe...it is so gorgeous and would be the perfect addition to any home because it serves so many purposes! It could be used:

~in your living room or family room for your TV
~in your bedroom or nursery for clothes
~in your toy room to hide all your kiddos belongings
~in a bathroom for storing towels, toiletries and laundry
~in a dining room for your dishes
~in your office to store and file your papers
~in an entry way as a statement piece
The possibilities are endless!!

It is a rustic armoire that measures 76.5 in tall x 50.5 in. long x 23.5 in. deep. Inside you will find 4 shelves {2 fixed and 2 adjustable} that measure 17.5 deep x 43 in. wide. The bottom features a drawer that is 37.5 x 17.5 and is 7.5 in. deep.

When I purchased it, it had a gaping hole in the back so I installed bead board and molding to give it a finished look. I then painted the entire piece in Valspar's "La Fonda Mirage" which is breathtaking! The pictures do not do this color justice...you'll want to see it in person! To finish it off, I added a black and white drawer liner. It is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for peeking ~Kell

Antique Desk...SOLD

I found this beautiful desk and it was begging to be refinished. Note the gaping hole cut out of its top that needed to be filled and fixed. OUCH! It needed quite a bit of work but I am always up for that challenge!

This desk is at least 70 years old, but I happen to think it might be older than that. It has 2 tags marking it. One that states "The J.F. Dietz Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, No. 33 1/2" while the other says "Los Angeles Desk Company" and gives an address. The original owner stated that it was shipped from Cincinnati. It is SOLID WOOD and amazingly sturdy which means that it is a quality piece that will last a life time.

This desk stands 30.5 in tall x 32 in. deep x 50 in. long. And as if that large surface wasn't enough, this desk features 2 pullouts that measure 16.5 in. deep x 10.5 wide giving you more room to spread out. It also features 6 dove tailed drawers; 4 of which measure 24 in. deep x 9.5 in. wide that sink 4 in., 1 that is 23.25 in. deep x 19 in. wide and sinks 2 in., and 1 that is 24.25 in. deep x 9.5 in. wide and sinks an astounding 10 in. It also comes with a custom cut glass top to protect your working surface making this a fabulous investment!

This desk has been sanded, primed, painted in a light cream color {I also added a beautiful border in a light gray color to add to its character}, distresses and sanded again for a nice smooth finish, and covered in a wax paste to add protection. I then lined the drawers with a scented liner that is gray and white striped to give it a completed look.

Hope you're enjoying your afternoon ~Kell

It is super trendy and would be the perfect addition to any home!

It measures 36 in. wide x 18 in. deep x 42 in. tall and features 4 dove tail drawers that are 33 in. wide x 14 1/4 in. deep. The top two drawers go down 5 3/4 in. and the bottom two go down 6 3/4 in.

Pine Table & 4 Chairs...SOLD

This piece is awesome because it could go with any decor you have! It has a real farmhouse, country feel but it would fit beautifully in a more modern home, also. It is very sturdy and I love how it turned out!!

I refinished the table by stripping the old stain, sanding out all the blemishes, re-staining it in an ebony color while allowing the original hue to show through in spots, adding a coat of polyurethane and topping it off with a coat of wax to seal and protect it. The sideboards I painted, sanded and distressed. After which I added a coat of wax.

The chairs I sanded, painted, distressed and waxed. I also recovered the 4 chairs with a very fun fabric.

This table measures 30 in. tall x 59 in. long x 40 in wide and is solid pine.
The chairs measure 39 1/2 in. tall x 20 in. at their widest x 19 in. deep.
It is finished in a color by Valspar called "Granite Dust" which is a gray / taupe. I used a semi-gloss sheen for durability.

Hope you're having a great night ~Kell

Berkey & Gay Antique Dresser...SOLD

This dresser is SOOOO beautiful! I have a thing for older pieces that have been brought back to life and that is exactly what this is. I have an authentic Mahogany {Solid Wood} Berkey & Gay 4 drawer {dove tail finish} dresser that I have completely refinished.

I started by sanding it well and painting it a beautiful gray / taupe color called Granite Dust by Valspar in a semi-gloss sheen that wears well. Then I sanded it again for a very smooth finish, distressed it so it looks its age, reapplied all of its ORIGINAL hardware and finished it off with a coat of wax for protection.

It would make a stunning addition to your home as a bedroom dresser, a credenza or buffet for your dining room, an entertainment center for your TV room, or even as an entry way table for your purse, keys, umbrella or even your shoes. It would also look amazing behind a center room desk to store your papers and what have you. It is a wonderful piece and priced to sale. It dates back to the 1920's through 40's and is in FABULOUS condition for its age!!

It measures 50 in. long x 22 in. deep x 34 1/2 in. tall and features 4 drawers that measure:
1 & 2 ~ 22 in wide x 18 in. deep and go down 4 1/4 in
3 ~ 45 1/2 in. wide x 18 in. deep and goes down 7 1/4 in.
4 ~ 45 1/2 in. wide x 18 in. deep and goes down 8 1/4 in.

One drawer features a divider and another has a hide away compartment shelf but the top piece is unavailable. Below, I have added some text from the Berkey & Gay website so you can read more about the piece:

Product Description
The Berkey and Gay furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, became one of the leading nineteenth century furniture manufacturers in America. Furniture in the Gothic Revival and Eastlake styles by Berkey and Gay became well known for their high quality, and two Neo Grec chamber suites by Berkey and Gay won recognition of high merit at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition.

The Berkey & Gay Furniture Company used three different types of labels to mark the furniture that they manufactured. The first label was branded into the wood and can often be found inside the drawers of the Berkey & Gay case pieces. Around the year 1900 the branded type label was replaced by a paper label. The brass label was used starting around the 1920's until Berkey and Gay went out of business in the 1940's. {This dresser contains a brass lable...see picture}

Vintage Lamp Set...UNAVAILABLE

These are the real deal, and beautiful at that!! I have a pair of vintage yellow lamps that date back to the 1970's. Yellow is all the rage right now and these would make a beautiful accent and pop of color for any decor.

Since they are from the 70's, I have taken out the old wiring from both lamps and replaced it with all new plugs that are 12 ft. long & clear in color so they won't stick out like a sore thumb. Aside from that, and one lamp shade holder, they are completely original, shades and all.

These lamps measure 37 in. tall x 8 in. wide at its largest width, with the shades on.
Without the shades, they stand 23 in. tall.

The finish is beautiful and needs no work; however, you may want to replace the lamp shades. They are somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 years old and still standing, but have a few cracks that are only visible from the inside. The exterior looks just fine.

Thanks for looking! ~Kell

{I have both shades, I just pictured one so you could see the entire lamp}

{Pictures 2 and 3 are closest to the lamps true color, they are a bit more yellow than they appear here. Picture 1 was a little dark}

Gorgeous Depression Era Waterfall Desk...SOLD

Talk about your salvaged piece!! When I ran across this it was destined for the dumpster. It was in such bad condition that it needed to be taken apart and reassembled. Glad I don't have a problem doing that kind of tedious work...in fact...I enjoy it!!

After piecing it back together, gluing it and using my handy nail gun, it was once again a solid piece. Then it was time to bring on the wood filler. Once that dried I sanded the heck out of this baby. Then came the satisfying part...the one that makes it all worth it...the paint. I picked a very fun shade of orange that goes along with the retro feel of this piece in a durable semi-gloss sheen. Then I distressed it to give it the feel of its natural age, not to mention that I have a thing for the shabby chic look. Once that was done, I applied a finishing wax to the entire shell except the top where I applied a coat of polyurethane to keep it durable. I also lined the drawers with a black and white liner for a more finished look.

This piece would be perfect for your childs room at homework time or with a mirror hung above it for a vanity, your craft room to store all your needed supplies, your office, an entry way as a welcoming piece to hold your keys, umbrellas and what have you or even as a display in a store. The possibilities are endless.

I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT and hope that you do, too!

And now for the details... This desk stands 30 in. tall x 42.5 in. wide x 19.5 in. deep It has 8 dove tailed drawers measuring: 1 - 13.5 deep x 8.75 wide x 12 in. tall 4 - 13.5 deep x 8.75 wide x 5 in. tall 2 - 13.5 deep x 8.75 wide x 2.25 tall 1 - 13.5 deep x 19 wide x 2.25 tall

Hope you're having a good one ~Kell
