Gorgeous Depression Era Waterfall Desk...SOLD

Talk about your salvaged piece!! When I ran across this it was destined for the dumpster. It was in such bad condition that it needed to be taken apart and reassembled. Glad I don't have a problem doing that kind of tedious work...in fact...I enjoy it!!

After piecing it back together, gluing it and using my handy nail gun, it was once again a solid piece. Then it was time to bring on the wood filler. Once that dried I sanded the heck out of this baby. Then came the satisfying part...the one that makes it all worth it...the paint. I picked a very fun shade of orange that goes along with the retro feel of this piece in a durable semi-gloss sheen. Then I distressed it to give it the feel of its natural age, not to mention that I have a thing for the shabby chic look. Once that was done, I applied a finishing wax to the entire shell except the top where I applied a coat of polyurethane to keep it durable. I also lined the drawers with a black and white liner for a more finished look.

This piece would be perfect for your childs room at homework time or with a mirror hung above it for a vanity, your craft room to store all your needed supplies, your office, an entry way as a welcoming piece to hold your keys, umbrellas and what have you or even as a display in a store. The possibilities are endless.

I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT and hope that you do, too!
