Back from hiatus...

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed your awesome summer break like I did!! I was so thankful to be able to take some time off to bask in the joy of my kiddos being home...and no schedule. Can I just say...that is my favorite {insert happy dance}

But as always, I was really happy when life returned to normal and a schedule appeared again. Funny how things cycle, huh?! Kinda reminds me of the little saying about the grass always being greener. I also was excited to be able to work on furniture again. It had been way to long and my creative mojo was ready to burst. My garage has been full of pieces since before summer began that I was really looking forward to busting out and I also had the privilege to work on some pieces for some clients. So rather than post a thousand times {yes...I am being slightly sarcastic} I decided I will do one large dump post...so bear with me!

**SOLD** Here is a beautiful Colonial Traditional 9 drawer {dove tailed} solid wood dresser I recently finished and for the life of me I can't find my before pictures. I will keep digging through my files and when I come across them I will add them. But envision if you will a brown dresser...straight out of the 70's...and you will know exactly what it looked like in its former life, hehehe! It has been brought out of that decade and given a new lease on life. I decided to paint it a soft cream because I thought it paired well with the hardware and lines of this particular piece! I slightly distressed it as well for the perfect shabby chic look. I am asking $250 for this awesome dresser that could be used for multiple purposes...a TV console, a changing table, and entry way table or sofa table...even a buffet or sideboard in a dining room. Isn't she a beaut?!

All together this piece stands 62 in. long x 17.5 in. deep x 32 in. tall and has 9 dove tailed drawers that measure 13.75 in. & 20 in. long x 14 in. deep and sink 3 in. & 7 in.

**SOLD** And then there is this awesome gem made by Khoury! Straight out of the Mid Century with its uber modern look and clean lines. I fell in love with the hardware on this one and decided to paint it gray because it is retro and trendy, just like this dresser! It is solid wood and features 5 dove tailed drawers that are nice and spacious. This one goes for $150 which is a great deal for a solid piece that will last forever! And again with the before pictures...appearently I need to organize my pictures better. They'll surface, and when they do I will add them right away.

This piece sits 30 in. long x 16 in. deep x 45 in. tall. It features 5 dove tailed drawers that measure 27 in. long x 13.5 in. deep and sink 5.5 in.

This darling desk made by Flanders just **sold**! I am loving the cute Colonial Traditional look of it painted in a beautiful cream color paired with the gray stain on top that allows the original wood grain to show through. I distressed it allowing it to keep with its age which turned out amazing! Its new owner will be using it as a vanity which I am thrilled about...I love outside the box thinking when it comes to furniture!!

I also had the AMAZING opportunity to help out a wonderful cause!! A young police officer was killed in our area last year and the neighbors of his family that were left behind held an fantastic auction for which I donated time and supplies to finish a dresser for someone. The dresser came to me already white so a before picture would be redundant but it was in bad shape from being left out in the rain and had peeling paint revealing a previous bright orange color! I was able to fix the damage the rain had caused and after stripping away the layers of color I painted it white and left it looking beautiful again. I also filled the drawer pull holes so that she could use crystal knobs instead. I thank my client on this one because she was extremely patient with me! It came right with the holidays, my grandfather passing, and girls camp...so it sat on the back burner longer than I care to admit but am thankful she was not in a hurry for her piece and waited for me to get my can in gear!

And last but not least are these amazing pieces that I was able to do for some clients. The first pictures are of a desk that I was able to complete {front & back} for someones office. This included sanding, de-glossing, priming, painting and applying wax and polyurethane. The others are of a campaign dresser for a twins nursery which needed a drawer fixed, a buffet that they will be using as a TV console that I fixed a pew pieces on and stained the top, some cubbies for their sons playroom {which I am waiting on the after pictures for}, and finally a cart for my kiddos school PTO.

As you can see...it's been a very busy little bit for me and I am so happy to be back at it!!! Hope you're all having a great night and a wonderful start to your Fall...my FAVORITE time of year ~Kell
