So my sweet friend came to me in hopes of finishing a dresser and nightstand for her daughter that was moving into her own room. She found this super cute set and I had the privilege of painting it for them! I LOVE how it turned out and can't wait to see it in her daughter's "Frozen" colored bedroom! Enjoy the pics... ~Kell

Stunningly Ornate 5 Drawer Tallboy and 2 Nightstands...SOLD
Before reading this please note that the tallboy dresser is still available but the nightstands have sold, thanks!
I am so thrilled about this set. I ran across it over a year ago and because life gets in the way of work sometimes I have had to love it in passing. Now that we are getting settled into our new place and life is becoming "normal" {insert laugh} I couldn't wait to get started on these pieces in particular!! With the AMAZING gaudy and chunky handles they have I really wanted to paint them a trendy and somewhat dark shade of gray. Mark Twain House Ombra Gray did the job quite well if you ask me!
I started by removing the original hardware, sanding each piece, priming them, painting them this beautiful shade of gray, sanding them again for an amazingly smooth finish, applying a coat of wax to the tallboy and body of the nightstands and a coat of Polycyclic to the tops of the nightstands for added durability.
These pieces are very heavy and built to last a lifetime. The tallboy dresser stands 59 in. tall {wow} x 40.25 in. long x 19 in. deep. Behind the stunningly detailed doors are three dove tailed drawers that measure 26.25 in. long x 13 in. deep and sink 5.75 in. each. The bottom 2 dove tailed drawers measure 30.25 in. long x 14.5 in. deep and sink 5.75 in. each.
Each nightstand measures 23.5 in. tall x 28.25 in. long x 15 in. deep and has 2 dove tailed drawers that measure 18 in. long x 10.5 in. deep and sink 6 in. each.
These would dress any room up and add character that is sure to be talked about! As always, let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for dropping by ~Kell

6 Drawer Tallboy...SOLD
What a beauty this one is! I love a solid piece of furniture and this is as solid as they come! Full of storage space, too! I love how elegant it is with its double doors and key poles. This "tall" tallboy stands 56.5" tall x 41.25" long x 20.75" deep. It features 6 dove tailed drawers...three that are exposed and three that are hidden behind the beautiful doors. The top drawer measures 15.5" deep x 34" long and sinks 2.75". The middle three are 15.5" deep x 31.5" long and sink 4.5" while the bottom two measure 35.25" long x 15.5" deep and sink 6.5". The 5th drawer even features a divider to help you sort your belongings!
As you know, with all my pieces, I sanded this one, painted it Woodlawn Bedroom White by Valspar, slightly distressed it and waxed it up. You'll notice from the first picture that the door panel had fallen off. Thanks to some heavy duty wood glue and my nail gun, that has been taken care of and will not be going anywhere in the next hundred years :) Didn't she turn out amazing?!?
Thanks for dropping by, I hope you are enjoying your evening ~Kell

Ornate Tallboy...SOLD
I LOVE old furniture. I know I've said it a thousand times and I will continue to say it...THEY DON'T MAKE FURNITURE THE WAY THEY USED TO!! They don't make anything the way they used to for that matter. Things nowa days are made to break so you have to replace them sooner...and that my friends is why OLD IS BETTER {in my humble opinion}!!! Every single piece I have ever finished was built to last a lifetime. Sometimes they don't look like they have much life left in them when I get my hands on them...but they always leave me with a whole lot of life left. Sometimes you have to see past their age to appreciate their bones.
This week I have been able to refinish 3 dressers...HOLY COW!! I haven't accomplished that much since I can't tell you when! I think the realazation that summer is soon upon us and my garage is full of pieces that I dread working on in the dead of heat {115* to be exact} is getting to me...hehehe! I'm just glad I have had some spare time because that seldom happens.
One of the pieces I finished was this gorgeous ornate 5 drawer dresser. I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore the detail work on this one! It's wooden frame and dovetail drawers are exactly what I am talking about when I say older pieces are built to LAST! In all, this piece stands 48" tall x 36" long x 18.5" deep. It has 5 drawers that are 31.75" long x 13.5" deep, three of which sink 6" and two that sink 5".
I sanded it, primed it, painted it Du Jour by Valspar, gave it a heavy distressing for a gorgeous shabby chic look, sanded it again for my signature smooth finish and topped it off with a coat of wax for protection. Please let me know if you have any questions...

Another goodie...
A friend of mine found this awesome Mid Century nightstand laying on the side of the road a little over a year ago and gave it to me. Boy did it need some work. One of the drawers was completely broken and the knobs that had been used were missing leaving gaping holes on the drawer fronts. It had also been given some etching by the previous owner :/ To me it was beautiful! I LOVE A GOOD PROJECT!! I was able to fix the drawer so it looked brand new, filled the etchings and holes with wood filler, sanded it down and painted it Aspen Gray by Valspar to take it from this...
to this...
It now adorns my sons room and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Mike!!

Finally complete...
A few days ago I posted about the busy year I have had. In that post I talked about a beautiful piano I was working on for a client. I swear it has to be a hundred years old. What an amazing piece!! It has so many amazing details and finish work and I was thrilled to have the opportunity at refinishing it! Well, it is finally complete...after at least 2 hours of cleaning {yes, it had that much crusted dirt on it}, the fixing of a damper pedal, mending some stripped screw holes, reattaching a knob, and fixing some minor bruises to its body...what started out as a dark brown, out of date upright, is now a gorgeous creamy white vision! Have a look...
Hope you're enjoying your morning ~Kell

Beautiful Mid Century Modern Dresser...SOLD
I am so excited to have finished another piece!! Something about "before and afters" really does something for me...hehehe!!
I painted it a very soft shade of gray that will go well with any decor. It was sanded, primed, painted {several times...I think it makes it more durable, slightly distressed, sanded again for a smooth finish, and waxed for a protective seal.
This solid wood LA Period piece measures 67.5" long x 17.5" deep x 31" tall and features 9 dove tailed drawers; 3 of which measure 30" long x 14.5" deep and sink 4.5" and 6 that are 16" long x 14.5" deep and sink 4.5".
It would make the most amazing TV console, dresser, buffet, changing table, office storage, or entry table...you name it!!
Thanks for stopping by! Keep checking back because I just painted a piece today that I hope to have listed tomorrow.
Enjoy this wonderful day ~Kell
